MichaelSullivan > Flash photography is a weak spot and this is pretty lame first effort. My indoor mini-studio consists of a fleece, a floor lamp and a table lamp. The small flash on the camera also fired so I think that's to blame for the glare. I need to break out the tripods and flashes. More to come!

This lens, 100-400mm, stays on my 20D.

MichaelSullivan > Manfrotto 3421 gimbal head - by Bogen. Heavy duty and reasonably priced compared to most heads. I also have a Manfrotto 3021BPRO tripod to mount this on. Here's an article with some info - http://www.nikonians.org/html/resources/non-nikon_articles/manfrotto_393/393_1.html
MichaelSullivan > Done a bit differently. I took a 420 and 430 flash left and right approximately 24" from the lens. A 580 was on the camera. All the light was bounced off a 9' ceiling. No ambient sunlight. Camera was handheld. The original is posted in my daily gallery. As you can see, smart fix lightened the photo but seems to have washed the color out a bit. Is there a book called "Flash for Dummies?" These lens photos have all been shot with my kit lens. Probably not the best choice.
MichaelSullivan > 23 Jan 08. High ISO, indoor lighting, no flash. I'm not happy. :-(
