OK, I'm going to try taking a daily photo. We'll see how disciplined I'm not! ;-)

MichaelSullivan > Learned something new today. The 430 flash doesn't function as a master. You might ask why I don't read the instructions? Well, I thought you only did that when there's a problem! :-) Also, the 28-135 is a much better lens than the Canon 18-55 kit lens.
MichaelSullivan > Looks like I need to clean my equipment and my fleece background. Flash closeups show all kinds of dust and lint.
MichaelSullivan > "Yawn" ;-)
MichaelSullivan > Flash 101. The master flash must be turned on in order for it and the slaves to fire. Otherwise, this is the result. There is a better photo of this 430 in my daily gallery. Technique seems to be improving a bit. Although other issues seem to crop up. Should I use a tripod? Kit lens seems to show its' weakness here. I need to use the 50mm 1.8 or the 28-135. Notice how the weaknesses are equipment related? Couldn't be me could it? ;-)
MichaelSullivan > Straight from the camera. No PP except a crop. Use a 430 EX ( pointed directly at this flash) off to the left about 9', a lamp to the right about 5' and a 580 EX on the camera bounced off the ceiling. Seems to work a little better. Thoughts?
MichaelSullivan > I didn't take a photo yesterday so I'm posting one from my Saturday trip. This one seems a little soft. Thoughts?
A face only a mother could love!
MichaelSullivan > Something a little different for today - 26 Jan 08. I wanted to get closer for a better photo. The wire fence looked rather inconsequential when compared to the size of this beast. And I wasn't about to wade through deep snow as she already seemed irritated. This will have to do! ;-) To see the rest of the photos from this day trip see the gallery titled 26 Jan 2008.

MichaelSullivan > Manfrotto 3421 gimbal head - by Bogen. Heavy duty and reasonably priced compared to most heads. I also have a Manfrotto 3021BPRO tripod to mount this on. Here's an article with some info - http://www.nikonians.org/html/resources/non-nikon_articles/manfrotto_393/393_1.html
